That's why it's important for every driver and passenger to have a basic understanding of how to provide assistance before emergency services arrive.
1. Secure the scene: In the event of an accident, stop the vehicle in a safe place if possible. Turn on your hazard lights and put up a warning triangle to warn other road users.
2. Assessment of the situation: Before taking any action, assess the situation. Check if there is a danger to you, other road users or the victim. Avoid approaching possible hazardous substances.
3. Call for help: Immediately contact the emergency number appropriate for your region, providing accurate information about the scene and any information about the number of victims.
4. Providing first aid:
- Check breathing and heart rate: If the victim is not breathing, start CPR.

6. Wait for emergency services: After providing first aid, stay with the victim until emergency services arrive. Provide information about the assistance provided to the paramedics.
